My BIO
If I look at the biography page on authors’ web sites, I’m usually trying
to find clues to the way they write and what they write about. It’s useful,
too, to form some idea of how much of a life they’ve had.
If it seems to
have been pretty stable and predictable, then if they write about a world
they can’t have experienced – one that’s dangerous, say, or wildly passionate,
or fantastical, and they do it well, you must respect their skill. But
most authors’ web sites have Bio Pages generally in the form of a typical
CV, and that doesn’t usually give the reader any idea of the story behind
the person.

When I came to do mine, I thought, ‘I’ve had an interesting
life and it’s certainly had its impact on what I write about and the way
I write. Why not move from CV to first-person narrative?’
That’s what I’ve
done here. You don’t have to read it. In fact, if you don’t find it interesting
and informative, you certainly won’t read far. You may not agree with and
may dislike my views, opinions and interpretations of things I’ve seen and
experienced along the way, but here it is.
Welcome to my life.
